RSUI Salemba

The story

A revitalization of Universitas Indonesia's Salemba rectorate that re-clothes a mid-century institutional block in a lightweight, high-tech identity. A rhythmic aluminium-fin brise-soleil — angled blades that catch the dusk light and throw the facade into crisp relief — wraps ranks of glazing over a warm, glowing interior, while full-height glazed stair-towers bracket the composition and a slender timber-soffit canopy marks the entrance. At grade, landscaped courtyards, feature trees and timber-decked seating soften the arrival for staff, students and patients, giving the heritage campus a calm, contemporary face.
