PLTU Cilacap Dormitory

The story

A riverside dormitory campus for the PLTU Cilacap power plant on Java's south coast: two eleven-storey slabs whose white concrete frames carry staggered light-oak sunshade panels between cream travertine end walls. A freestanding travertine portal and a floating walnut-slatted bridge mark the arrival court, while on the river side a cantilevered timber-clad clubhouse opens onto an infinity pool, a floodlit sports court and a square ring pavilion — worker housing reimagined as a shaded, landscaped tropical retreat.
