Cempaka

The story

For a family of four in Rempoa, Rumah Cempaka was redesigned from an enclosed building into an open, village-style home that embraces its community. A key feature of this architectural renovation was the creation of a public path through the property, physically connecting the home to its neighborhood. The design showcases a vernacular Javanese style through exposed red brick, concrete, and the reuse of local materials. Inside, an open-plan layout combines vintage and eclectic elements with inherited furniture, crafting a truly homey atmosphere.
